Meta is already developing dual-display smart glasses

Following the single-display Ray-Ban Display glasses, Meta is continuing its work. According to reports, the company is working on more advanced versions with dual displays.
Meta seems determined to make smart glasses a part of users’ daily technology habits. The company aims to make the transition feel more natural before fully focusing on its augmented reality (AR) projects. After first launching smart glasses in collaboration with Ray-Ban, Meta then released the Ray-Ban Display model, which integrated a small internal screen for notifications. According to new information, it is now taking this a step further by working on a dual-display model.
Meta wants to advance rapidly in this field

According to Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman, the new smart glasses Meta is working on will have displays on both lenses. Although these glasses will not offer a direct AR experience, they will add elements of augmented reality to daily life.
The first-generation smart glasses, introduced with Ray-Ban in 2021, primarily focused on a hands-free experience for taking photos, recording videos, and making calls. In 2023, Meta introduced the second-generation model with improved cameras, an enhanced sound system, and voice assistant features. Then, in 2025, it went a step further with the Ray-Ban Display model, offering revolutionary features like notifications, maps, messaging with WhatsApp, and live translation through its integrated display.
The new dual-display smart glasses will allow information to be viewed on both sides. The ability to quickly glance at information such as messages, navigation directions, or calendar events will make the glasses not just an accessory, but a functional tool for daily use. This approach will help users get accustomed to using glasses as a screen and will serve as a preparation for the future.
Meta is not the only player in the wearable display category. Apple has entered the sector with the Vision Pro, and Samsung is also developing its own model. However, Apple’s slow-moving strategy has so far made Meta the leader in this field.
